At Leap Event Technology, we believe that the heart of our success lies in the incredible people working behind the scenes. That’s why we’re so excited to spotlight Amber, our Client Onboarding Specialist, who has been an integral part of Leap for nearly seven years!

From her early days with Leap’s professional event ticketing solution (formerly known as ShowClix) to her current role guiding clients through our powerful ticketing platforms, Amber’s passion, expertise, and dedication have made an impact on both our team and the clients she supports. Before joining Leap, Amber graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in advertising and worked in real estate for a time (you could say hosting open houses was her gateway into hosting events!). She then got lots of hands-on experience in event operations and ticketing. She managed a music venue called Terra Fermata in Stuart, FL and was very involved in her local community by helping organize events of all sizes.

We caught up with Amber to hear more about her journey, her role, and what motivates her to help others create successful events. Let’s dive in!

Our Interview with Amber Werle

How did you first get connected with Leap? What drew you to want to work here?

Funny story! So, my husband and I moved to Pittsburgh back in 2017, and my first job in the city was as an escape room manager. One day, the marketing department for ShowClix was doing a team-building exercise at my escape room, and I was the one who was running the room. I absolutely loved the energy of the people, so I just knew I had to apply to work there. It also happened to be in my line of work. It was a win-win!

What’s something unique about Leap’s culture that sets it apart from other places you’ve worked for?

Definitely the people! Everyone who works here is genuinely passionate about music, events, or both. Logging on for the day is a joy because I get to share my love for this industry with others who have that same enthusiasm. Honestly, I think that’s the secret sauce to loving what you do. As long as you’re interested in the fundamentals of your career — and the people you work with are amazing! — you’ll naturally find joy in the work you do. I truly feel like I’ve found my dream job.

What are your primary responsibilities in your current role, and how does that impact the company and its clients?

As a Client Onboarding Specialist, my primary responsibility is to guide both new and existing clients through the process of setting up their events, using our advanced ticketing platform (formerly ShowClix) and our convention management solution. I love guiding clients through the onboarding process, teaching them the in’s and out’s of the system, and making sure they feel confident managing their own event builds. I provide training, answer questions, and assist in the setup process to ensure a smooth transition onto our platform. This role is essential because my work directly empowers clients to use our solutions, which impacts retention and their overall success. By providing exceptional onboarding, I contribute to the company’s long-term growth.

What do you like most about working at Leap Event Technology?

I get to collaborate with an amazing team that’s supportive, knowledgeable, and fun to work with. Being part of the live events industry keeps things exciting and dynamic, and I love seeing how our work helps bring incredible experiences to life. I also enjoy the occasional opportunities to travel onsite for events and to experience that excitement firsthand. And of course, the ability to work remotely gives me the flexibility to balance my professional and personal life (plus, I really appreciate the slow mornings that come with not having to commute!). It saves me so much time and energy, allowing me to focus on my work ten times more effectively than I would in an office setting.

Since you mentioned having experience working onsite with a few Leap clients, what’s a favorite memory you have from one of those events?

One of my favorite (and most recent) memories was traveling to California for an event. I love to travel, and since I had never been to the West Coast before, it was an incredible opportunity. I had also been deeply involved with this event in previous years, so being boots on the ground and seeing everything come to life was really rewarding. On top of that, the onsite team I worked with was absolutely fabulous.

Bonus: I even got to ride in a self-driving car — such a cool experience!

How does Leap help you grow and develop professionally?

Leap has been great at supporting my professional growth by encouraging continuous learning and providing opportunities to expand my skills. The department directors, managers, and company leadership are always offering new learning opportunities, and allowing me to explore different areas of interest, making me more effective in my role and across the company.

If you could organize your dream live event, what would it be and why?

Oh man, this is tough because I have so many ideas — but two come to mind right away.

First, I’d love to organize a seafood festival and fishing tournament in my hometown of Martin County, Florida. Stuart is known as the Sailfish Capital of the World, and it would be amazing to celebrate that with fresh local seafood, live music, and community vibes.

Second, I’d absolutely love to help produce a Boiler Room or Cercle session — ideally at our local private jet center in one of the hangars. The mix of live music, a unique venue, and a high-energy crowd would make it an unforgettable experience.

Give us a glimpse into what your life looks like outside of Leap. (And bonus question: what kinds of live events do you like to attend in your free time?)

These days, I’m happily based in my hometown of Stuart, FL, where I spend as much time as possible fishing, boating, or hiking — basically anything that gets me outdoors and on the water! When I’m not on the water, you’ll often find me playing tennis or unwinding with some yoga.

On the home front, I recently got married, and my husband and I share our lives with an adorable, giant Great Dane named Goose, who keeps us laughing and brings us so much joy!

As for live events, my favorite ones to attend are concerts and comedy shows. There’s something so gratifying about seeing your idols perform live on stage. The energy, the unforgettable memories, and the laughter make these experiences truly special!
